It's my code
WIRED -- Linus Torvalds is making his kernel developers certify that the code they submit for the kernel is their own work. This is a big step forward towards ensuring Linux remains uncontested by companies with claims to Unix.
Under the enhanced submission process, contributions to the Linux kernel may only be made by individuals who acknowledge their right to make the contribution. The acknowledgement, called the developer's certificate of origin, or DCO, will track both code contributions and contributors. All contributors will now need to "sign off" on their code before their contributions can be considered for inclusion in the kernel.
