About Photoshop Elements

ADOBE -- The biggest feature in Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 is its ability to handle photos in camera raw format. This format preserves the camera image as a "negative" which mean it lets you open the images and edit them without any kind of loss in the image. Photoshop Elements has a Camera Raw dialog box that lets you save the settings for a specific camera or a specific lighting condition and reuse them when opening another camera raw file or a batch of camera raw files.

Cool features in Photoshop Elements include:

  • Organizer that creates useful subsets for timeline viewing, among other things.
  • Photo Review can be set to music, with each photo in a full-screen view.
  • Version Sets track multiple versions of edited or shared photos by automatically creating a stacked "history" of the multiple copies.
  • Wizards make easy work of slide shows, calendars and greeting cards.
  • Stacks keep less-than-perfect shots behind the best ones of a batch.
  • Quick Fix helps with colour and lighting adjustments.
  • Noise removal cleans up bad scans.
  • Zit Removal is done with the "spot healing brush" and erases blemishes with a single click.
  • Red Eye Removal continues as a separate tool.
  • Cookie Cutter is like the marching ants of Photoshop.

The program does more than these things but these features work magic for amateur photographers.
