In earnest?

GOETHE -- Last month, I pulled words from Goethe after reading a piece written by Josephine Gräfin Plettenberg. Today a paragraph from GE's Jeff Immelt¹ prods me to write the words again, while trying to memorise them.

Then indecision brings its own delays, and days are lost lamenting over lost days.

Are you in earnest? Seize this very minute.

What you can do, or dream you can do, begin it.

Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.

I could have guessed that Jeff Immelt reads voraciously. He sounds like a well-read man. He told Spencer Reiss, "Twenty percent of what I read are business books. I read all the journals. I read biographies, novels. But leadership is a learning-by-doing thing. There's no one I admire or love than Jack Welch, but I've watched so many people try to copy him. It doesn't happen. Leadership is an intensive journey into yourself."
