Celebrating Independence Day

KILKENNY -- Here in the sunny southeast of Ireland, we won't have fireworks for another month when the Kilkenny Arts Festival kicks off. So we scrounged around and found the most suitable elements for celebrating July 4th. They're high fat "Star Spangled Ice Cream" selections and exceptionally American. (Damn! They cannot ship to PO boxes.)

• Kerry Berry (strawberry ice cream with a dose of bleeding heart candy)

Once you fly beyond the Statue of Liberty, you slip beyond the reach of most American celebrations. But you can find globalistic influences of the States by focusing on the "multitude of premium, high-butterfat-content ice cream choices." It feels patriotic to celebrate with American under the banner of ice-creamy goodness.
