Free Investment Advice
WITH THE IRISH PROPERTY market sliding backwards, some friends have started comparing notes about their savings and investment programmes. My advice: buy Grimple. That would be a combination of Google, RIM, and Apple. Buy a basket of those stocks and you will be placing your money into tech's hottest areas. Google dominates search advertising and will continue riding the high horse. RIM is the Blackberry manufacturer and has the best balance sheet in wireless communications applications. Buy Apple and you get the one company that understands convergence of computers, consumer devices and recorded entertainment. Fortune magazine points out that "during market instability, owning three mega-cap market leaders is a comforting idea."
Douglas Whitman, a tech-focued hedge fund manager in Palo Alto thinks, "The three have fantastic businesses, and none trade for ridiculously high valuations." At the moment, Apple, Google and RIM are off 39%, 37% and 19%, respectively, from their all-time highs.
