Qualified to Help Puppets
AFTER THREE YEARS as a microblogger, eight years as a blogger, and 34 years using the internet, I feel qualified to help puppets learn all about Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, YouTube, IGOPeople, LinkedIn and Picasa. The only problem is that the puppets aren't convinced that their mission is best served by going virtual. That's where I draw on my experience watching over the shoulder of a two-year-old in my sitting room. She knows several puppets in person because she has seen them on screen first. Every day, she carries Baby Bop to the creche, even taking special care to ensure that green female dinosaur is clicked into a shoulder strap. As the months unfold, I'm going to commission the expert advice of my two-year-old as we decide which video segments, animated shorts and audio snippets get shared online. And what better way to share than through the newsroom features of the established virtual social netwoks? If arts in medicine appeals to you, please consider subscribing to my weblog to see how I get along while helping puppets navigate our virtual world.
