CESI 2010 Success
MORE THAN 250 EDUCATORS spent Saturday in Portlaoise College (site of the statue at right) during the second day of the annual Computer Education Society of Ireland. I spent more time in the hallways and among conference exhibitors than in the classrooms because several familiar faces let me chat with them. There's a "cultural language postcard" project I have to jump start because it's been on the cards since the 2009 Education Conference in Tipperary Institute last May. I want to report results at the 2010 Schools Conference on 15 May 2010. There's work ahead with Oracle's Education Foundation and it might accelerate a specific third level project I'm watching in Tipperary Institute. Interactive whiteboards are making strong appearances at Irish education events and today's vendors carried that momentum into practical demonstrations of attractive and cool technology. As in nearly every Irish education event I've attended for the past 10 years, the energy level today stood heads above the funding levels availed by the Irish government. I doubt that mismatch will ever be reconciled.Sent mail2blog using O2-3G service in Portlaoise, County Laois, Ireland.
