TODAY'S OPEN COFFEE SESSION in Limerick should be a small cluster in the corner of the Absolute Hotel because the epicentre of the Irish internet moves to the Web Summit in Dublin for the rest of the week. That doesn't concern me because I'm on a mission to expand my smart world and that mission puts me in the company of some of the most helpful people I've met. They know more about breakthroughs in creativity than a featured speaker list in most of the industry events set throughout Ireland this year. I'm not denying marquee presenters their right to claim the top billing. But I know from personal experience that several clever developers who live and work in mid-west Ireland make every journey I take to Limerick a worthwhile trip.
The small grouping today lets me explore some ideas that I'd never confront in a bustling venue.
-- The paradigms that company founders confronted during their start-ups.
-- How hotspots affect creative leaps.
-- What people think about creative leaps and embedded intelligence.
-- Social dimensions of innovation.
All these topics need to be integrated to our third level creative multimedia curriculum. I get the background facts by talking to men and women at the coal face and several will be in Limerick today.
Last Year: "
Biggest OpenCofee in Limerick" happened on 5 Feb 09.
Today: Limerick OpenCoffee in the Absolute Hotel.
