THIS HAS TO BE the most brilliant Walkman ever offered by Sony. It's the NWZ-A845 and its high-quality build and 2.8 inch WQVGA OLED screen makes the iPod look cheap. This is also the thinnest Walkman ever created (7.2mm). And it also has TV-out function which means it gives a new life to old television sets and it means we can rip. drag and drop and then share movies with friend in 720×480 (SD) quality. Video clips autoconvert when put on the device. I like the extra touch Sony gives to customers (premium MDR-EX300SL earphones) because I'm always tearing up my earbuds. Other premium features include DSEE, Clear Stereo, Clear bass, and lyric display.
According to reviewers, the NWZ-A845 has about 29 hours battery life at 128kbps, and 9 hours of video playback at 384kbps MPEG-4. Codec support includes MP3, WMA, AAC, HE-AAC, and PCM/wav. Video formats include the usual AVC (H2.64), MPEG-4 and WMV. I'm trying to see what the software does to M4V files because that's the format in many of my video feeds.
Expect the Sony NWZ-A845 to sell for €175 in Ireland.
