Computing Adventure Camps in Tipperary
DOZENS OF STUDENTS will spend this week on both campuses of Tipperary Institute to participate in Computing Adventure Camps spread across four days. In Clonmel, the emphasis turns to creating multimedia items that can be presented online. Audio equipment, digital cameras, and animation software will feature through a four-day crash course. During that time, a Flickr photostream, Audioboo audio subscription and Qik video collection will capture original work developed by the 18 fifth and sixth year participants in Clonmel. The 2010 running of the Computing Adventure Camp follows four years of the Schoolworks programme where participants created podcasts, shot photos, tossed cameras, and edited short video clips for embedding to web pages. This year, cloud computing services help publish creative work faster than could be done with individual workstations. Tipperary Institute staff knows it's more fun to see work up online at the end of every session and that's the goal with this week's programme.
