Digitising Memories on 12seconds.tv
WHILE THUMBING THROUGH a wedding album from 1957 and seeing snippets of text scrawled on telegrams, I realised that most of my friends never saved the text messages they received during their weddings. Fifty years from now, when those couples are reminiscing like Tony and Kitty Woodhouse (a snippet in the clip), I wonder if anyone will remember the excitement of getting a text on a perfect day. Or will they remember the playlist from the wedding DJ? I'm thinking about these things at the moment, as I clean out a summer's worth of text messages from 2008. I'm storing them as a flat text file because I think it's a useful process to teach in a Mass Communications module at Tipperary Institute.
John and Kitty Woodhouse reminisced when we hooked up in the Parknasilla Resort in County Kerry.
