Upskilling with Video

Two monitor day on 12seconds.tv

I HAVE FEWER THAN 30 days every summer to re-jig learning materials for the academic year and I use most of July for that purpose. It's a productive occasion when I can upskill as well as re-jig. This summer is the first time that I have a computer that's up to the task of creating screencasts, mashing up disparate video clips and slicing together multimedia elements into learning materials. I'm toying with a two-monitor set-up (see above) at the moment but that does not make easy work of decoding and encoding video from 17 different recorders. After two intense days of doing this, I now know why Mike Kiely has occasional back pain.
