WE RUN AN ANNUAL conference about ICT in Education every year and know it's important to attract high-quality keynote speakers. This year, we're crowd-sourcing the keynoter list.
I opened the nominations with Jeff Jarvis, the entreprising journalist who knows more about failed ideas than I've ever seen in an NBC telecast. I've listened to Jeff since before the Like Button was invented and perhaps that colours my judgment because I can read into his east coast sense of humour. My German side also enjoys the way he pokes his finger in the eyes of mainstream thought auf Deutsch during the weeks he spends consulting with Germany companies.
So my dream would be to get Jeff into Ireland in time for a Wednesday TWiG, have him record the session while surrounded by Irish journalists and journalism students inside Google-Ireland, then put him into a whirlwind tour of Irish start-ups as he examines the ways text and reportage is making their way onto small screens in the hands of Irish twentysomethings.
