Using LinkedIn with Aspiring Sports Managers

AN EFFECTIVE ONLINE presence yields results so I ask third level students to prepare LinkedIn profiles for review by friends, lecturers and potential employees. Several interesting LinkedIn profiles emerged during the 2015-16 academic  year and the work offers a starting point for the next group of digital media students who will begin building their ePortfolios in a few month's time.

We started the work with a short design thinking workshop that led to formulating posts for LinkedIn. Students can earn academic marks if their achieve a minimum of 25 views to their posts. I believe this sort of connected community effort captures the spirit felt during the early days of blogging in Ireland. I've linked below to most of the sports management students who creating their first LinkedIn profiles. All of them can earn credit when people view their posts either on LinkedIn or on the blogs they created in the digital media module.
