UNDERWAY -- When tourists arrive in Ireland two weeks before St Patrick's Day, you know the tourism industry is headed for a good year. I overheard three separate groups traveling from Kilkenny to Dublin. That is more than I noticed all last month on my Friday trips to the capital. I suspect it means southeast hotels have solid summer bookings already. That's great news for the proprietors as everywhere becomes non-smoking. Count 'em: 24 days until NO SMOKING IN IRISH PUBS.
