THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING turns 73 today--on the occasion of welcoming 10 accession countries into the EU. I think we're going to have a better party in Europe than what's celebrated in NYC. They're not drawing attention to large structures in the States any more. I wish we could light up the side of the Kilkenny Castle with the colours of Lithuania--the country being welcomed in Ireland in ceremonies held in the sunny southeast.
