INBITE -- I pulled together a 22-minute Powerpoint presentation in under four hours of preparation time because I have broadband at home. More importantly, that broadband connection costs nothing for the third month running because of a generous promotion by EsatBT. Plus my monthly phone bill to Eircom is in credit since I slap €100 to the account without looking at it each month. What used to be €129 a month on average is now less than €50 a month. These two things--faster time to presentation product and more money in my pocket--complement because I can take the money saved and buy things that enhance my presentation. So I have found myself back in CD shops thumbing through racks, buying things I download first, and playing those tracks in a favmix loop that seems to break the writer's block whenever it raises its ugly face. Today, it's Bruce taking me through "Live/1975-1985" and right behind him there's REM and Prince.
I made three points about broadband at home.
- A broadband wireless home is smart.
- Why not online kitchen table recipes?
- RoomLink streaming delivers.
I will shift the main points of my INBITE 2004 presentation here soon. I'm using Blinkx to find all the things I forgot to mention in the first iteration and that alone is showing me things I should have mentioned in the first session. Most of those thoughts stream to me along with backing tracks accenting treasure troves served up in Blinkx.
