HELSINKI -- A few weeks ago, the first Mobile Monday happened in Helsinki. We were out of Europe for the time and normally I would let the event pass by but Christian Lindholm summarised a few things worth considering.
- Syncronisation is like plumbing. Leave it to open source plumbers.
- Many of the attendees talked Mac. Three hardcore PC guys had recently switched two to the Mini and one to 15" Powerbook and they spoke of the Mac like any enthusiast in the beginning of the nineties.
- The future for operators is in low bandwith data like identity management. In services very few will be able to compete. This conclusion is part of the rationale behind the Vodafone "Simply" programme (aka basic phone).
- The Nokia N90's screen caused multiple "WOWs!"
