VENICE -- It's easy to get lost in Venice and easier still when you get all turned around on the internet while searching for important things. Googling for "Ireland at Venice" brings you to the main website only through the good linkages of others. That's because the official Irish site is Flash-first, content-second. That might be arty but it reduces the flow of information by masking the prominence of the site. With no text crawled by Google, the site becomes an internet orphan.
Fortunately, Indymedia and Sarah Pierce pick up the textual burden and explain more about the Irish exhibition. As expected, parts of The Metropolitan Complex surface in the Venice Biennale. Sarah Pierce explains how the exhibition came to its site. Its placement is part of the "local" theme that courses through much of the practise of Sarah Pierce.
