LIFE IS FRAUGHT with dangers and those who respect new things with a degree of caution often enjoy the fruits of their labour without incurring setbacks. Today's "cautions" appear after reading 16 pages of a new operator's manual:
- Extreme volumes may damage your hearing.
- The power switch does not disconnect the unit from the mains. Unplug the power cord completely when the unit is not used for prolonged periods of time.
Close inspection of the warranty advises that "damages/defects caused by force majeure" are not covered by the manufacturer. This is important because I was going to place the unit near a radiator that was discharging water in a threatening spray pattern towards the base of an equipment rack in our uncertified house. That's force majeure in Uli Behringer's book.
