LONGBOW SPOTTERS in Germany have successfully pointed to imminent danger in the Middle East on the heels of motorcycle Polizei taking up positions on A6 overpasses west of Landstuhl, Germany. The most telling Polizei wear green leather laced with black stripes and travel with what look like longbows strapped to their backs. Those longbows are actually snap-fit sniper rifles with night scopes. Polizei guard autobahn routes used by convoys carrying special weapons. This week, those convoys will marshall at Ramstein Air Base where close watch missions will take them to Israel. The rest of the story will unfold during a broadcast news bulletin.
I used to jog near the sniper posts, unless they were occupied. Then I controlled the airlift missions en route to their destinations.
