TOO MANY NEWS releases from the Labour Party in Ireland bubble up into my feed readers and that means someone or some process is shoveling stuff that purports to be valid information. I can't afford the time to read item-after-item coming from the Labour Party so I've unsubscribed to their flow. I won't visit IrishBlogs.ie during normal working hours because whole screens are filled with Labour Party snippets or Oasis facts that I need to know.
Tony Heffernan is a key player in press relations for the Irish Labour Party. He needs to embargo press releases--no more than one an hour. He needs to educate Feed 43 to respect blog space and not merely scrape and publish old web pages. If Labour needs help doing this, someone working in Ely Place should join the Irishblogs Yahoo! group and ask questions. Red is a common colour among Irish bloggers (although most is Munster red).
I wish the Irish blog aggregators would throttle back blogs that try to publish more than one item every 15 minutes. It appears that some blogging software reissues old RSS feeds when a single item updates on a front page. That's not information. It's just wasted space.
