YOUR WORKFLOW must not congest when you read newsfeeds. After all, you're into the speed of feeds because you're avoiding slow browsing. My work rate started misfiring after I populated Google Reader with more than 100 feeds. Like nearly every one of Jeremy Zawodny's readers, I'm back to using Bloglines because it works with the flow I need to follow. I like the simplicity and serendipity of Google Reader but I cannot get it to collapse an entire category--because you cannot put feeds into categories with the minimalist Google implementation. With this experience behind me, it's no wonder that most of my blog news is read by Bloglines subscribers. You can see more with Bloglines so it's my first-stop tool of choice when monitoring a river of news. But you can keep Google Reader pared down and that's important when introducing RSS news reading techniques to casual visitors.
