GOOGLE ALERTS now integrates blog search content. When subscribing to a Google News alert for your brand, you receive the same style alerts for content in the Google Blog Search index. There will be no escape for the telecoms poodle.
I pulled the biggest items from the Irish Theme Cloud and spotted some interesting things.
"Damien Blake" takes you to "Irish Election" as you may expect since he addressed that topic at the Irishblogcon and on the radio. In fairness, Damien Blake's blog is the number one result, although it appears as a "related result" up top.
The topic of "Irish roads" offers mainstream media results after pointing to four blogs first. You would expect that since covering events on Irish roads is a good way for an editor to spread carnage across four columns. Carnage sells. We get into the discussion during a podcast [20.9 MB MP3 file] from Studio Six.
Nothing from mainstream media gets onto the first page of results displaying for queries about Thinkhouse PR" even though the company enjoys mainstream press coverage for its foray into Second Life. In fact, there's no link love from the Irish blogopshere to Thinkhouse PR on the heels of business press coverage of THPR and SL.
