THERE'S A WORLD of joy for those who can depend on iTunes but a world of hurt for those who don't know they might lose hundreds of tracks with no recourse. I thought about that when Dave Winer wrote about his iPod scrunching on a downloaded track. DRM sucks.
Dave Winer -- "It won't respond to any of the various magic keypresses, at least the ones I know of, and of course there's no way to do a power cycle. And because of the DRM, there's no backup, so even if I reformat the iPod, I'll have to set up everything all over."
