CALLING IT "Microsoft's most significant product launch ever", the Irish team takes over Croke Park on Tuesday, 5 December with man-on-the-moon Neil Armstrong touching down on the hallowed ground with Vista under his arm. The day's events pay tribute to more than 15,000 people in Ireland who have participated in testing Vista, Exchange 2007 or Office 2007 in the pre-release cycle.
There are over 4,000 people currently registered for the event. If I go, I get a free copy of Home Vista. I'm most curious about the features of Vista that "protect and manage content. Advanced content management and document retention tools combined with features to better protect data confidentiality make content authoring the starting point for automated business processes and regulatory compliance". Just wondering if anything on my computing platforms will shut down my operating system after Vista is given free range roaming to validate my rights to use my stuff.
That's a battle for the new year with a new computer, I think.
