LITTLE THINGS are making the sitting room back into a communal space under my roof. The latest welcome addition--the Samsung HT-Q20 digital home cinema system. I got it as a loving Christmas present. Within a few hours, everybody present started hearing noises from behind the couches and one felt the subwoofer vibration under the cushions. Suddenly, every DVD in the house took on a new dimension.
One cable out of the geek drawer provided a direct jack-in for my iPod as well. [Note to Self: Add another geek drawer to the garage. Make this one for games console cables.]
And the coolest thing--I did not read a single word fromt he 76-page owner's manual before successfully switching on the thing.
I'm glad I'm not attending CES in Las Vegas because I'd definitely return with baggage for this sitting room baby.
