KNOWING THERE are good reasons to outsource your content management headaches, Six Apart just rolled out a few features that would placate community website owners. They also work well for me since they streamline ways to manage posts, comments, and trackbacks. Those activities occupy most of the time I spend behind my IrishEyes blog.
Six Apart also figured out that people might use the Book and Music TypeLists if they received a little tweaking. I'm interested in trying those features now that they've received a little touch-up.
The big change in the Typelists is a new search feature for Book and Music TypeLists. This lets me search by keyword, then select entries from the search results. I keep some essential and supplemental readings inside Typelists now, but that's not my primary repository for those titles. I think I'll try this new feature since if I can’t remember the author’s name, I could simply search on the title and select the appropriate result to have the title, author, and thumbnail populated automatically. The TypeList management page is also reset to permit bulk-edit lists and that means my screen shows up to 20 items at once.
