TWO COMPLEMENTARY event announcements dropped into my in-box recently. Both focus on the way we communicate through blogs, podcasts and newsfeeds. One (costing EUR 18 an hour and payable with lightning-fast credit card purchase) is run by the Irish Internet Association for two hours in Dublin. Another (costing EUR 50 an hour, paid through excruciatingly painful-for-me Paypal) is run in Newcastle by the University of Sunderland with support from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and the wonderful folks at Don't Panic. While you could argue with the target audiences being different in the two cases, you could defend the Irish event as delivering heaps of value for the money.
