READING MY SUNDAY papers, listening to Jaiku texts beep on my P1i, and flicking through Twitter while using Google Reader, I have 10 questions. First and foremost, why is Jason Bourne reading The Guardian?
Other questions arising follow below.
2. Do homes representing masterclasses in minimalism sell with the least amount of touch-up paint?
3. What new company start-up does not know there is EUR 280,000 to be won for the best start-up businesses in Ireland?
4. Where is Ireland's tallest hotel located at the moment? The Sunday Business Post does not say.
5. How much money did a group of Irish investors lose during the past 16 work days? A: More than EUR 50m.
6. Does a "Yellow Pack" pilot working in Belfast get paid less than a unionised Aer Lingus pilot working in Dublin? A: No. Both start at EUR 70,000 annually.
7. What strategic undertaking does Vincent Browne recommend on the heels of the dust-up about Aer Lingus abandoning its Shannon-Heathrow route? A: "The whole seat of government, the Oireachtas, the courts, and all government departments, would move to a single centre well away from Dublin....the logical place for a new capital (is) the Limerick-Ennis region, because of the airport and the port. Dublin, of course, would remain the business capital and the cultural capital. The movement of hundreds of thousands of people from there to Limerick would ease its congestion problems and would offer a chance to get it right in the new capital."
8. What item seems never to make the cut in newspapers profiling good gear? A: Shoes.
9. What's JK Rowling doing with a notebook in her hand while sipping tea in an Edinburgh cafe? A: Writing in another genre. Find her, pen in hand, at Nicholson's in Edinburgh. We are watching our Scottish correspondent, Ewan McIntosh, for details.
10. What has absolutely no value as front page news in a mainstream broadsheet. A: WAGs.
