OVER THE COURSE of my six years of blogging, I've written about technology I have owned and used. Some of those written blog items generate a standing count of visitors every day. More than 300 different people arrive here every day, just to find specific tech information I have shared since March 2004 on this blog and another 25 people a day visit two other blogs in search of tips written in early 2002. I'm starting to think that I should use Typepad's "pages" feature to set up special show-me-do sections for each of the top eight technical topics below that attract at least one visitor an hour to Inside View.
Sony Digital Voice Editor. I started with version 2 of the software and now use version 3.1 but many visitors want to know how to get the software to work on a Mac. Long ago, I promised to set that up as a web service and once I get the finger out, we will have the system running for online conversion of MSV files to MP3 files.
Framing Mermaids Under Water. Getting a perfect snap underwater of a nude mermaid is a challenge and it will be even more difficult sorting out the video cameras that record the sequence of my underwater documentary. I think I will let the task to experts like Alberich Mathews.
Build your own stun gun. This isn't the smartest thing to do but I scavenged some disposable cameras from the Dunmore Recycling Yard to prove the concept. Now a page on my blog about DIY stun guns, personal tasers and the ethics of shaking hands with a stun glove entice lurkers to argue about having a stun gun at hand.
Reformat iPod. If you own an iPod and you sync it with a PC, you will encounter a need to reformat the device once you start approaching its maximum memory capacity. Two people an hour arrive here to read how to reformat their iPods.
Motorola V710 Bluetooth Hack. I got a Motorola V710 from Park PR in late 2004, enjoyed its Bluetooth capability, and then wrote about how to apply a patch to restore Bluetooth on a neutered V710. It's still a popular page for people who have inherited old V710 handsets.
Reformat Nokia N70. My N70 stalled and froze several times. I reformatted it to restore its snappy operations. From the looks of my webstats, this is a common issue with other N70 owners.
Cleaning up svchost.exe. If multiple instances of svchost.exe drags down your Windows system, you probably have malware running on your computer. A minimum of two people per hour visit here to find out what that means for them.
Suspended by eBay. I hate Paypal which means I dislike eBay. I'm suspended by both and share my story for those who need to get back onto eBay.
