CHARITY SHOPS don't like to be seen as dumping grounds but they will take unwanted Christmas presents. Age Action Ireland will accept most things, apart from large pieces of furniture or perishables. If you want to drop off gadgets to them, the electronic items mist have the approved CE mark and those gadgets need to be in their original wrapping with the manuals. That's very difficult in my experience because of the plastic shielding molded to many pieces of electronic gear today.
The Irish Cancer Society also likes to get items with resale value. Oxfam Ireland has its ClearUrGear campaign and accepts all sorts of unwanted or unused gift items for sale in its shops.
