MANY INDUSTRY ANALYSTS believe no single event has done more for the Blackberry than the iPhone launch. Thanks to the iPhone, people now want to enjoy desktop functionality on a handheld device. Since the iPhone's introduction in June 2007, Blackberry quarterly sales have more than tripled, from $1.1 billion to $3.4 billon. A sizeable percentage of people I follow on Twitter use Blackberries. Three of the five top-selling mobile phones in the United States are Blackberries. In my family at home in Pennsylvania, numerous versions of the Blackberry ended up on picnic tables. Because Blackberry works with every major carrier, consumers can get a subsidized Blackberry no matter what their plan.
