WHILE ON THE ROAD, I made a 12-minute Qik News Clip that culled some Irish broadsheet highlights from the Sunday Times (ST) and Sunday Business Post (SBP). I'm trying to make my Sunday broadsheet review a weekly thing so the clips can be critiqued by third level students in a Creative Multimedia programme I teach at Tipperary Institute. I snapped a shot (at left) of several main points that caught my eye, labeling the ideas as #trend, #ip (intellectual property), and #recession. The hyperlinks to the hashtags show there's some discussion on Twitter concerning each of those topics. The lead stories across Ireland focus on an upcoming inquiry into the banking crisis, something that appears to be headed into a closed-door session. This won't sit well with taxpayers who have funded a bank bail-out--billions of euro that will be paid back over two generations.
