I NORMALLY ATTEND LIMERICK OPENCOFFEE (seen at left) on the first Thursday of every month but I won't attend June's meet-up because of a high level visit from examiners visiting Tipperary Institute. The examiners want to see what's inside a proposed BSc in Digital Animation and how we plan to educate students for creative jobs. From experience, we know we can train graduates to work with storyboards, multimedia transitions, motion graphics, audio engineering, web promotion, simple wireframes and production line processes like ink and paint. However, we would like to award a graduate a degree that emphasises drawing and animation. In order to gain accreditation, we need to survive a lively cross-examination by a panel of five experts who will visit to find holes in our proposal. Check back tomorrow to see how we did. My role in the process is limited to explaining how Media Writing, Public Relations, and Narrative fit into the big picture.
