TODAY MARKS THE SEVENTH consecutive time I've met a classroom full of students starting a third level multimedia degree at Tipperary Institute. The honours degree programme has run longer than that but I haven't been around for every induction session. Today's cohort is the largest we've had and when they scatter out to all six modules on the first year programme, we need to split the group into several sections to ensure everyone gets a workstation in the multimedia labs. The high entering number is good news for Tipperary Institute and today's record start points to a trend line of strong interest in the hands-on semesterised creative multimedia degree programme we run in Tipperary. This year, I'm moving activities up a notch and that means regular readers of my blog will see guest appearances by students showcasing their written, sketched, photographed and recorded segments. I talked about the year ahead in an Inductionboo and there's a YouTube video that shows some samples of what we've done in the past seven years of training multimedia graduates in County Tipperary.
