THE MOST POWERFUL piece of mobile technology in my pocket at the moment is my iPod Touch. It's running iOS4, has a 14-hour duty day, plays videos almost as good as my Xperia X10, synchs my audio life better than any device and does Facetime with 80-year-olds better than Skype. I'm trying to break the thing so I'm not sheathing it in any shock case. If I can get it to connect to a Mifi device while roaming, my world will be perfect. I'm dead impressed at the speed at which it can swish through my inbox. It acts stupid when I try to type on it but that's understandable. I can see why Apple advertises its retinal capability but it's just a clever zooming technology and that's all. I'm stuck with upgrading the iPod Touch because both my wife and my mom have shown me how they can touch and swipe their way around the device. Translated, that means I'm probably ceding the little guy to Ruth for her last trimester in the house since it's simply the most comfortable wifi device she's used.
