EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE slipped into the Irish winter, I'm already thinking about summer and that means enjoying several valuable sessions at the e-learning summer school run at the Dublin Institute of Technology.
My Flickr photostream tells me I've been rubbing shoulders with Kevin O'Rourke and his passionate e-learning crew since 2006. That's a lifetime when you consider none of us had touchscreen devices back then. I got to see where educational technology was heading by sitting and listening to hours of memorable sessions during week-long summer school sessions alongside dozens of other Irish educators. The DIT crew deserves plaudits for their focus and vision. The programme runs smoothly, almost like it's on autopilot. Perhaps that's why I started thinking about the Summer 2012 programme today, wondering whether I could convince the organisers to let me present a session on Collaborative Circles with Catherine Cronin from the National University of Ireland in Galway. Instead of trying to pitch my piece, I made a short video tribute below as a token of my appreciation to DIT's e-learning support team.
