WE NEED A MINI MAKER FAIRE in Ireland's southeast, perhaps during the Spring Semester academic break of 2013.
As Conor O'Neill points out on Alpha, "we have more than enough people ... to do a kick-ass event". And I think it would be worthwhile, so I'm posting this blog item as a statement of interest in the event. Without trying, I run into someone dabbling in Arduino every time I visit County Cork. Coder Dojo is strong throughout the southeast of Ireland and there is a strong cross-section of hardware and software developers from Digital, Parthus, and S3 who grew up without Make but who dabble, hacked and created stuff before they went to college.
A Mini Maker Faire would be a nice way of giving them props as well as channeling their energy into something that would benefit the thousands of people who would attend a day-long Mini Maker Faire.
Dublin's Mini Maker Faire ran on July 14, 2012, in the Science Gallery, and they made a video of creative things.
