I WORK WITH CREATIVE kids who produce artwork worthy of exhibition every year. From the sounds of it, we'll add an international dimension to #kidsart in 2013.
I mentioned on Audioboo what I was doing with a local primary school. That short solo conversation has morphed into an international one, with Jane Boyd in Canada and Paul O'Mahony in Ireland. As in the case of all user-generated content, the participants will determine what unfolds. So I've added some more thoughts in the audio clip below.
As I mentioned in my Audioboo, we've displayed artwork created by children at our annual ICT in Education Conference. We got delightful work from four to 12 year olds.
In a current project, we document the creative process in primary school classrooms, using HD video recorders on smartphones. We snap completed work with the 12MP camera lenses on the phones, getting better results than with a scanner. And as a by-product of this initiative, we're training primary school teachers how they can convert use their smartphones as scanners when they tag and upload the work done by their students.
We're looking at three themes:
-- My Home
-- My Place
-- Sharing
The cross-talk is just beginning. If you'd like to hop on board, please tag your thoughts with #kidsart or leave your comment on a #KidsArt audio post or blog post.
KidsArt is a List.ly list and it's tagged on Audioboo. I'm also tracking it on pinboard.
