I RENTED MY FIRST wheels from BikeShare.ie and survived several self-induced snags to return again.
Everything went smoothly when checking out the bike but I forgot to snap a shot of the combination so two hours later, I had to ring BikeShare Ireland to unlock my bike.
I also failed to read the literature that came with my annual subscription so I didn't figure out the gear changing mechanism until I'd cycled 44 miles uphill. Fortunately the return 40 miles were all downhill and that made the journey all the more enjoyable.
My half hour of cycling cost me less than two bus journeys of the same distance, so I'm ahead by fifty cents and inspired to give it a go next month. Hopefully, the pavements will be dry and my briefcase will be minimalized so I can avoid feeling like I'm taking my 4yo boy on the handlebars.
