FOR AS GOOD AS elegant virtual connections are, there are compelling reasons to meet up and share real conversation with small groups of friends. I am missing that collegiality nowadays.
We used to go to Limerick OpenCoffee on the first Thursday every month. I have a great affinity for The Absolute Hotel where the occasion blossomed. But the pressures of my academic schedule keep me closer to home and away from Limerick on those first Thursdays.
I'm looking at a way to kick start the same high quality level of conversation closer to campus and we might try to hijack space in a local coffee shop in April and May. But first, I want to check with a few local catalysts to see if they're amenable to the idea. To give it legs, we need an electronic presence that engenders collaboration.
