Otter.ai converts speech to text. I turned on the app using a three year old Sony Xperia sitting a meter away from Amy as she spoke. The Otter app captured most of Amy's presentation through the on-board microphone assembly. It does much better when used with a microphone in a quiet space.
I'm currently unpacking The Inevitable with three separate groups of students. Creative Multimedia students often bring a code-based perspective to their reviews of Kevin Kelly's work. Our animators can see a story in every chapter and game art designers have shared holistic analyses. All of these factors are coalescing in a flow of audio commentary I'm sharing as work that pushes out into iTunes U.
