WE SPENT MORE THAN SIX HOURS inside One Microsoft Place and learned how to create Sphero Chariots before donning Hololens (in the photo) to catch over-sized insects running around Microsoft Dreamspace in Dublin. This was a major life event for 11yo Mia, 8yo Dylan, and three members of the Youth Media Team. I wish every primary school student in Ireland could avail of this engaging experience.
View this post on InstagramAlong with @pamelaaobrien and five members of the Youth Media Team, I spent six hours hosted by @microsoftireland inside One Microsoft Place in Dublin while coding @Sphero Bots, using Hololens, annotating maps on a Surface Studio, visualising data through animated charts in PowerBI, and enjoying lunchtime samples from five separate in-house eateries. The day revolved around activities programmed by Dreamspace Maestra Amanda Jolliffe and academic evangelist @saorog. I took away several clever ideas for #STEAM outreach from the full-on day and I know that we will be able to delight young tweens in Tipperary with the hands-on ethos that personifies #makerspace. #dreamspace #coding
