I'm rarely disappointed when the same long reads appear in both my podcatcher and my blog reader. I recommend a long read from both The Daily and Audm about astronomy and extrasolar planetary science. Few astronomers have contributed to exoplanet research as mightily as Dr. Sara Seager of MIT.
You can hear the brilliant story about The Woman Who Might Find Another Earth" by subscribing to The Daily on all good podcast networks.
We bought my father-in-law a telescope he occasionally uses through a Velux window at the back of his home. When we lived in a rural area free of light pollution, we used a non-scientific telescope to view the dark sky in the middle of the night. I wish everyone could try to simply look up and try to count every star they see. It's uplifting, as is the audio story read by Gabra Zachman.
