THE CONCEPT OF IDENTITY enjoys deep coverage in several creative media programmes I teach. During the 2020-21 time frame, I hope to connect several facets of identity to both the academic programme on the Clonmel Digital Campus and to the 2021 Clonmel Junction Arts Festival.
To start this semester, I'm adding a treasure trove of ideas about identity to a deep collection I've started on Roam Research. I've just started the process and need to ensure everything exports elegantly into Class Notebooks that complement our online experience with Microsoft Teams.
During a series of online seminars, we're using Rob Walker's The Art of Noticing, images from Tim Ereneta's Mask Mondays, the attic hideaway from JoJo Rabbit, immersive audio collections, and volumetric journaling with a Ricoh Theta S camera.
I believe we will use these six prompts during the 15 weeks of our Media Writing module in the autumn of 2020.
-- What would you see if someone looked up above your flat?
-- What would be a prominent feature if you created a volumetric journal of your space?
-- How do you extract value from the virtual?
-- What's hiding behind the mask?
-- What does the inventory of your special hideaway reveal about your identity?
-- How is your identity shaped by community and by education?
