I SPENT 90 MINUTES in Cork's Bon Secours Hospital on the first Monday of October 2021 to get a troublesome skin growth removed. The procedure went well and even though I know I'll have a black eye for a week, it's been worthwhile.
My kids want me to use the scary eye as part of a Halloween costume. I've never thought about stylising a single eye but if doing that elevates my Dad Factor, why not?
Although several consultants briefed me on the possible side effects of tender skin, black eye, and infection, I did not expect to smell my own skin burning during the removal of a benign growth. I do expect to have a vertical scar to mark the excavation of my infection.
And I deeply appreciate the professionalism of the staff of Bon Secours Hospital in Cork as well as the service standards of VHI, my health insurance.
