THE 32 DAYS between the 10th of January and the 13th of February represent a period of death in my family that I observe every year. I feel the effects of aging more vividly when these memories sweep over me and in 2022 it's even stronger because I remember my father when he was as old as I am now and I know how quickly he passed away a few years later.

I'M LEADING a group of creatives into the Land of Web3 and believe Marc Canter (snapped above on a Dublin street in 2006) reads the landscape correctly when he says Web3 cannot be about one technology or one way to do things or one tech stack. ON ANOTHER NETWORK, four days past, long time friend Greg Dickson asked what I was doing. He noticed I was quiet on Twitter and hadn't uttered a word on several of the social audio apps I use. So here's a quick public update.

I'm feverishly trying to get ahead of 80 students who are taking four different academic modules I teach at the Technological University of the Shannon. I know that the next three months will challenge me with pop-up events connected to (1) major programmatic reviews and (2) COVID scares. So I'm trying a few structural interventions that should help me circumvent the potholes that will crater my calendar.

Riding with a Balaclava #fitness

OCCASIONAL VIEWERS may have noticed I now carry a three inch scar on my right cheek. I've discovered it changes to a tender blue line when I cycle during winter mornings in Ireland so I'm going to be the guy with a balaclava who occasionally stops for takeaway coffees in Clonmel on weekdays.
