I WROTE DOWN some of the wisest words heard during the past week. You could consider many of them as life hacks.
Some of my most successful students have to overcome imposter syndrome. I tell them that Ed Miliband says, "Everyone feels as insecure and as much an imposter as you do." And Shaun Ryder, the musician, says self belief got him through his first gig at age 18. Musician Patti Smith agrees. "We're all more resilient than we think."
Actor Jodie Whittaker thinks "some of the best lessons for life are in Green Eggs and Ham".
"It's really good not to hang out with people that make you feel bad." -- Tom Hollander, actor.
"Writers finish books. If you ant to be a writer, get to the end." -- Salman Rushdie, author.
"It's righty tighty, lefty loosey. If you're trying to bleed a radiator or unscrew a screw, turn right to tighten and left to loosen." -- Sara Cox, DJ.
"Tell the truth so you don't need to have a good memory." -- Captain Sir Tom Moore.
"Be adaptable. If a place isn't what you expected it to be, deal with it." -- Mo Farah, athlete.
