IN ANOTHER THREAD, several readers have reported problems splitting their digital voice files while using the third version of Sony's digital voice editor. This contrasts to the immediate response enjoyed by v2 of the same editing program. A Tampa Bay reader has a Sony ICD-P520 with v3 of the Sony Digital Voice editor. He says, "At times there are delays of 15-20 seconds when I am trying to split a file. I am using the device to record agents in my call center, but when I am trying to split the files to individual calls, it takes me forever, because I have to guess when to push the button to split the files on the software. There are lags doing other tasks." In the local Sony centre, the counter staff thinks Sony will update the software before the end of August. In the meantime, if you arrived on this blog in search of a solution, I recommend you download the Sony Digital Voice Editor by using the links from this post and detailed information follows.
1. click DirectX (https://ict.tippinst.ie/~bgoldbach/sw/sony_digital_voice/) Download EVERYTHING from that list and put it into a folder "Drivers" 2. Click Drivers (https://ict.tippinst.ie/~bgoldbach/sw/sony_digital_voice/) Click your brand. Ex. ICD-SX. Create the two folders on your computer "Driver" and "Installer" like the one listed. Download everything in those folders and put them in the right folder. 3. Click English (https://ict.tippinst.ie/~bgoldbach/sw/sony_digital_voice/English/) download EVERY single thing on the list. ** Notice PlayerPlugin is inside another folder, create a sub folder to download the files in Player Plugin. Copy and paste the readme text onto wordpad to get a copy. 4. Click on DVESetup.EXE in the "English" folder. You should have no problem. ********Download everything exactly and place them in the exact folders they come in!!!" Reall important. Otherwise you will not get it working. Last reminder: so basically you have create 3 folders: 1."DirectX" 2."Drivers" 3."English" EX: On desktop English(Folder Name) -DVE2_Chinese.chm -DVE2_Chinese.chm -DVE2_Dutch.CHM -DVE2_E.chm -DVE2_French.CHM -DVE2_German.CHM -DVE2_Italian.CHM -DVE2_Spanish.CHM -DVESetup.EXE -DVEsetup.ico **PlayerPlugin/ (Subfolder) +PlayerPluginSetup.EXE +Readme.txt -ReadMe.txt -UnUsb.exe Then open folder English\DVESetup.EXE. Run It. Ta Da! Congrats. It SHOULD and WILL work.
